"Finally Mine" Live at Exposition Studios
I'm gonna show you who I am, and I'm gonna rise above,
It's time for me, and you will see, just what I'm made of "Turn My Light on" - Juliet Roberts
From the first notes of Juliet Roberts’ latest release, Things Keep on Changing, there’s something special to be discovered in her soaring vocals. Combining frenzied horns, a lively choir, and commanding rhythms, the Los Angeles native’s sophomore release continues to blur the lines between retro soul and indie rock. Fueling the sweet nostalgia of a bygone era with modern production elements and a touch of grit, Juliet achieves a truly refreshing, addictive sound.
A songwriter at heart, her innate poetry skills and spontaneity are observed through Roberts’ versatile subject matter and dynamic range. The single “Finally Mine” off Things Keep on Changing is an emotional ballad about finding that ever-elusive love; “Get It Started” is a dance party waiting to happen; and then there’s “Rise Above”—an empowering anthem about overcoming adversity in today’s tumultuous cultural climate.
Versatility is nothing new to Juliet. She has performed in a variety of unique situations and stages around the country. Roberts embraces interaction with her fans through crowd engaging improv tactics . Trademarked as "Freestyle Falala" Juliet asks her audience to provide a random topic to her and the band, who then quickly riff and perform a full song about the topic.
When performing her original music, Roberts strives for this deeper connection with audiences and describes it as “something that I lock into, and I can tell when we are connected" These are the moments where I’m really in it.”
Juliet’s talent has given her the opportunity to work with some prolific producers and songwriters, including Sam Getz and Jimmy Weaver of Welshly Arms, who produced her first self titled EP. She is inspired by powerhouse performers like Sia and Elle Fitzgerald, but remains connected to her own authentic style. Brands and broadcast alike have also connected with Roberts. With key placements in Brands such as Makeup Forever, Dove, Este Lauder and 2018 NBA Finals. you can also catch her on TV smash hits like ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, NBC’s The Voice. Juliet music brings fresh expression to moving picture.

What advice would you give other independent artists who hope to be in your position one day?
JR: Oh, that’s a really good question. Honestly, that speaks a lot to what I’ve done because I’ve been asked this—I’m a hustler, I will take any opportunity. I’m the kind of person, I don’t care if there’s one person in the audience or 1,000 people, I care about whoever is caring about it.
WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO OUTFIT?
I do like a lot of black, I’ll admit it. I probably wear too much black. I love to wear long draping kimonos, dusters, a pair of nice boots, and a velvet headband made by I’m With The Band or a black hat. I like a bright statement lip. Currently, I’m using a Kat Von D lipstick in metallic red—it’s the coolest color—and mixing it with a dark berry red. It stays on forever.
Singer Juliet Roberts is a fan of the Golden State Warriors, but her first love is music. So, in her song ‘Finally Mine’ — which is featured on the NBA’s commercials for the 2018 Finals (which may or may not include her favorite team), she says she’s singing about her first love: music.
